John Study Resources (2026-2027)

Make sure anything you purchase is the NIV 2011 version. Contact a coach if you have any questions about what to get, or have trouble getting a resource due to financial limitations. Also, if you find a resource that is not on this page, please let me know.

***If you are not sure that you want to quiz, feel free to attend a couple of practices before you order anything. It is common for first time quizzers to attend a couple of practices before ordering materials. You can get by for a few weeks.***

Recommended Resources

There are plenty of resources available for teen quizzing(see entire list below). At a minimum, I recommend the following resource:

John Spiral-Bound Concordance and Scripture Portion – This contains the Scripture in two styles (paragraph and verse-by-verse). It has the memory verses, concordance, and lists that are useful for teen quizzing. Recommended for all quizzers!

Other resources that are commonly used.

  1. Practice Questions – Questions for a quizzer to use for practice at home.
  2. Memorization – One or both of the resources below are great if you want to learn the memory verses. The apps/websites are also useful for memorizing passages or chapters.

Memory Verses

Memory verses are a great way for new quizzers to get into teen quizzing.  I suggest you start during the summer and learn as many as you can.  The list of verses is your portion, or you can find them at the links below. 

NOTE: Compare every memory verse resource you use against the Memory Verse list from the portion. Some of the free resources had mistakes in the past.

  • Memory Verse List – Select the correct year in the dropdown.
  • Print your own Flash Cards
  • Purchase Flash Cards (Select the Nazarene Material for the current book(s) and year. This site supports multiple denominations and quizzing years, so pay attention to what you order.)
  • Jingle Seeds – Memory Verses put to music.  This is not as good as the children’s memory verse CD, but I have only heard a few sample tracks.
